Ingredients for the walnut pie
- 120 g granulated sugar
- 3 eggs
- 300 g self-rising flour
- 100 g ground carob rusks
- 150 ml condensed milk
- 150 g butter
- 280 g walnuts
- 5 g cinnamon
Ingredients for the syrup
- 450 g granulated sugar
- 350 ml water
- a bit of lemon or orange
Method for the syrup
Add in a small pot all the ingredients and heat until it comes to a boil.
Method for the walnut pie
In a mixer’s bowl, add the eggs and sugar and beat with the whisk attachment, until light and fluffy.
Release the mixing bowl and add the carob, while stirring with a mariz.
Add the walnuts to the mixture.
Finally, add the milk and then the flour.
Pour the mixture in a well-greased and floured baking pan and bake at 170 C fan for 40-45 minutes.
When the walnut pie is ready, immediately pour the lukewarm syrup over the pie.
