Ingredients

  • 2 puff pastry sheets
  • 200 g ION NUCREMA 30% less sugar
  • 1 medium egg yolk
  • icing sugar, for dusting

Method

Line a large baking pan with parchment paper and place one puff pastry sheet on it. Make sure you unroll the puff pastry sheet upside down, so the plastic wrap is on top of it. Gently remove the plastic wrap, and set aside.

Then, repeat the same process for the other puff pastry sheet, by placing it exactly on top of it, so it fits perfectly. Again, remove the plastic wrap.

Next, use a sharp knife and make out the figure of a big Christmas tree. Right after, pull away the excess pastry, and set aside to use later.

Right after, carefully remove the upper piece of the puff pastry sheet, and place it on the plastic wrap.

Then, spread as much Nucrema as preferred, over the puff pastry sheet on the pan, and immediately after, gently place again the other puff pastry sheet on top of the first one.

Cut branches into the sides of the Christmas tree, approximately 3-4m wide. Make sure you cut the branches, approximately 2 cm from the center of the tree.

Then, twist each branch away from you, giving one to two turns to each branch.

Afterwards, use the remaining pastry pieces and a cookie cutter of your preference ( a star-shaped one) to cut out stars. Cut 3-4 stars ad place them on the surface of the tree.

In a bowl, mix the egg yolk and one tablespoon of water, and brush the tree.

Finally, bake in a preheated oven, on the middle oven rack, at 180 C, for about 20-25 minutes.

Optionally, garnish with icing sugar.
