Baked Beach Donuts

Ingredients

  • 480 g all-purpose flour
  • 180 ml whole milk
  • 75 g Lurpak cow milk butter
  • 60 g sugar
  • 2 medium eggs
  • 1 packet of dry yeast
  • Orange zest or vanillin

Method

In a mixer’s bowl, add the milk (room temperature), sugar, yeast and 2-3 tablespoons of your flour.

Mix lightly and allow 10 minutes for the yeast to rise.

Right after, pour all of the ingredients into your mixing bowl and mix with the hook attachment for 5 minutes, until it becomes a homogeneous and elastic dough.

Butter a bowl, and then pour the dough into it.

Cover with plastic wrap and leave for 1 hour, until doubled in size.

Once the dough is ready, roll it out with a rolling pin to less than 1 cm high.

With a cookie cutter, cut donuts to the desired size.

Place them on a baking pan lined with parchment paper and use a smaller one to make a hole in the middle of each donut.

Bake in a preheated oven, at 170 °C fan, for about 15 minutes.

Optionally, when they are ready, brush them with a little jam and dip them in sugar.
