Ingredients

  • 200 ml orange juice and orange zest
  • 200 ml water
  • 100 ml olive oil
  • 500 g self-rising flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon 
  • ½ teaspoon clove powder
  • 30 ml raki or brandy
  • 350 g granulated sugar

 

Method 

Place in a large bowl the water, orange juice, olive oil, raki, sugar and use a hand whisk to beat the ingredients, until the sugar melts.

Then, add the flour, the spices, and orange zest and keep whisking, until all the ingredients are homogenized.

Right after, pour the mixture into a 30×35 cm baking pan, which has already been greased and dusted with flour. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 C fan for approximately 30 minutes
