Grandma’s Snowball cookies (Kourabiedes)

Ingredients

  • 125 gr. unsalted butter (Lurpak)
  • 40ml olive oil
  • 50gr. powdered sugar
  • 300gr. all-purpose flour
  • 1 medium egg yolk
  • 1/4 tsp cloves
  • Orange zest
  • 25ml orange juice
  • 1 vanilla pod
  • 150gr. roasted almonds

 

For garnish

  • Rose water
  • Powdered sugar

 

Method
In the mixer bowl, using the whisk attachment, mix the butter with the olive oil and
powdered sugar.

Once they become fluffy, add the egg yolk, continuing to mix.

Finally, add all the remaining ingredients and mix until you have a homogeneous
dough.

Shape the dough into kourabiedes of the desired size and place them on a baking
sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake in a preheated oven at 170-180 C, in air mode, for about 20-22 minutes.

After they cool down, spray them with rose water and immediately sprinkle them
with plenty of powdered sugar.
